Pastor Ken
Norton
1962 – graduated from Centenary College in
Shreveport, Louisiana with B.S. Degree in Social
Sciences.
1966 – graduated from St. Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, Missouri with Master of Divinity
Degree.
After some four years in the United Methodist
Ministry as a pastor, he surrendered his credentials and went into the business world
spending ten years with the world famous Dale Carnegie Courses. He promoted and taught over fifty classes with the Dale Carnegie
Program.
Then he began to develop his own programs under a
company name, Attitude Control Institute. He
presented classes to business and industry in the people-skill areas of attitude control,
communication skills, human relations, management training, and strategic
planning.
After twenty-two years Norton felt the call of God
back into the United Methodist Ministry as a pastor. He was Pastor of First United Methodist Church of Mansfield and Grand
Cane for six years. He is now retired and full time Associate Pastor at Asbury
United Methodist Church in Bossier City.
He has found that the thirty-two years in the
business world has made him a more effective minister. He understands more clearly what the lay people face in living the
faith on a daily basis.
For the past several years, Norton has been
writing an inspirational article for the Mansfield Enterprise. This article appears each week on his website as
well.
